Precautions of installation

  • It is of primary importance that you have a perfectly healthy support. On painted supports, carry out a scouring with the grinding machine or a sanding (for smooth surfaces).
  • If the support is very smooth, carry out a pricking, then apply Sika Top 121 liquid with the brush.
  • Use an adhesive meeting standards NFP 18-840 and NFP 15-451 containing resin and cement. Take advice from us to know about available products .

Gluing of the stone

  • Once the support has been washed , draw level lines, then apply glue on all the stone surface.
  • It is of primary importance to carry out a gluing of both stone and support.

Clinging on a support

  • Stick the stone by a light pressure and use a rubber hammer.
  • Put 1 to 1,5 cm blocks between each stone.

joint up the unit

  • Once the glue is dry, joint with gray mortar (sand and cement) or beige mortar (wall coating).
  • Fill the joint with a joint-trowel .
  • In order to soften the joint, you can add a latex stopper in your mixture.

joints finishes

Two methods are possible:

  • 1st method:
Finish the joint with a wet brush in order to smooth it. Clean up the burs with a mason-sponge.

  • 2nd method:
Make a joint with the stencil key set: Equalize the joint using a joints-trowel . Finish with the metal brush.

Washing of the stone

  • After 24 H, wash with chlorydric-acid mixed with water (1 L of acid for 4 L of water).
  • Let take effect for 30 seconds, then rinse with water.
  • Pass a water-repellent product to preserve the state of the stone.

Lintels-Doors-windows

  • If the lower part of the lintel is to be equipped, you will have to to descend it of 0,5 cm in order to cover it with plates.
  • If the angle-return is envisaged, (plates 25 cm X 30 cm) make the stones exceed of 0,5 cm from frontage wall.
  • It is advised to carry out a pegging of the lintels and of large stones with ankles to be struck (diam 8mm), then to cover the screw heads with with coating.
  • If the set is expected only on frontage (without returns), apply the stone in the alignment of the door window or lintel table.

Cuts

  • Mark a draw on the back of the stone.
  • Carry out the cut with a grinding machine equipped with a diamond- edged disc diam. 125.
  • Then burst the edge cut using a hammer. Pass pure chlorydric acid on the cut.
  • Rinse with water 30 seconds afterwards.

Corners returns

  • Apply the mixture of granite and matter (which exists in a set of 1 volume of white cement for 7 volumes of granite mixture + 1 stopper full of latex) with water to the junction of the two stones. (out of bags of 2,5 and 10 kg)
  • Work on the joint using a brush or of a flexible brush.
  • 48 H after, pass the pure chlorydric acid on the joint, leave 30 S, then rinse with water.

Lintels and descents

  • In order to install descents, begin from the top downwards
  • maintain the stones by toc nails
  • In this case the last stone will often be cut.

NB: The stones for the lintels adapt to the various lengths. The installation method of is to be realized in double gluing.
